Post by panithuzhigal » Tue Sep 20, 2011 1:22 pm

In our Labsetup We have our Windows XP computer in Workgroup. We have Windows Server 2008 in Domain. I have created a workgroup in Windows XP computer with the domain name what we have our servers. Now XP computer is there in that Workgroup.
Communication from XP to Windows Server 2008 is happening perfectly. But when i try to create a New Data source for a SQL Server DB from XP computer to Windows Server 2008 its not allowing me to create. Its throwing following error. Please help if someone faced the same issue in same scenarios and solved it.

SQL State '01000'
SQL Server error 53
[microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]Connection Open
Connection failed
SQL State '08001
SQL Error 17
[microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
